About the Role

Join Day Group as a Technical Administrator and play an important role in supporting the Company’s Technical Department from our Crawley office. Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you’ll help maintain the technical systems, records, and processes that underpin our aggregates, recycling, and construction materials operations.

Working closely with suppliers, customers, sales teams, and internal departments, you’ll be responsible for managing technical data, coordinating supplier approvals, supporting quality and compliance activities, and responding to technical enquiries. This is a varied administrative role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, processes, and documentation while building strong working relationships across the business.

 

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly organised and professional individual who takes pride in accuracy and has a proactive approach to their work. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, communicating with colleagues and suppliers, and maintaining detailed records to a high standard.

You should be confident using Microsoft Office applications, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Experience within the aggregates, construction materials, or technical compliance sectors would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Request, review, and maintain supplier test data and technical records
  • Manage and maintain the Company's technical data library
  • Review and file aggregate test data and support investigations into non-conformances where required
  • Produce and maintain technical trend reports and data sheets
  • Coordinate the Company's supplier approval and assessment process
  • Liaise with suppliers throughout the onboarding and approval process
  • Coordinate responses to customer pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Provide technical and quality information to customers and colleagues
  • Coordinate Technical Department toolbox talks and training records
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers, and colleagues
  • Promote safe working practices and support company compliance requirements

Desirable

  • Experience within a technical, compliance, quality, or administrative role
  • Experience working within the aggregates, construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors
  • Knowledge of aggregate standards and specifications
  • Experience managing technical documentation and databases
  • Understanding of supplier approval, quality management, or compliance processes
