About the Role

Join Day Group as a Sales Systems Administrator and play an important role in supporting the systems, information, and processes used by our Sales Teams.

Reporting to the Sales Systems Manager, you will develop a detailed understanding of the Company’s principal IT system and help ensure that sales-related applications and processes operate efficiently. You will provide system support, ensureaccurate information, produce reports, and work with colleagues across the business to identify and implement process improvements.

This is a varied role that combines system administration, data analysis, reporting, user support, invoice processing, and cross-departmental coordination. You will also have opportunities to develop your knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Office 365, RM, Power Apps, and system analytics.

The role would suit someone with strong IT and administrative skills, who enjoys investigating issues, working with data, documenting processes, and finding practical ways to improve how systems are used.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused individual with excellent IT skills and a professional approach.

You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, handling confidential information, and communicating with colleagues across different departments. You should be curious about how systems and processes work, with the ability to investigate errors, identify their underlying causes, and help develop practical solutions.

Experience of business systems, database reporting, Power BI, CRM, or Power Apps would be beneficial, although opportunities to develop knowledge in these areas will form part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out order pre-checks and process invoices accurately
  • Manage general sales applications and complete routine system maintenance
  • Provide user support for the CMDseries application
  • Support CMDseries upgrades and assist with the investigation and management of system issues
  • Maintain accurate system costs for loose and bagged materials
  • Liaise with the Accounts department to resolve supplier invoice queries
  • Create and maintain clear process documentation so that tasks and knowledge can be shared effectively
  • Coordinate cross-departmental tasks and help improve communication between teams
  • Interrogate ODBC databases and produce reports when required
  • Play an active role in the Internal Sales Audit, helping to identify errors and investigate their root causes
  • Support the development of training resources and processes designed to prevent recurring errors
  • Help transfer existing reporting processes to Power BI where appropriate, giving users greater access to information
  • Use system analytics to support improvements in data input and the quality of resulting outputs

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organisational and task-management skills

  • A logical and methodical approach to investigating problems

Desirable

  • Experience supporting business applications, sales systems, or operational software
  • Experience of database interrogation or working with ODBC data sources
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or other reporting and data visualisation tools
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Office 365, or Microsoft Power Apps
  • Experience investigating errors and identifying their root causes
  • Experience supporting internal audits, system upgrades, or process-improvement projects
