Quality Assurance
Day Group has a designated management representative who is responsible for the Group’s Quality Management System (QMS). The system is based on the requirements of ISO9001:2008.
- Day Contracting is the Water Treatment division, certified to ISO9001:2008 issued by the UKAS accredited British Assessment Bureau.
- The Days Aggregate Division is also certified to ISO9001.
- The CJ Burgess (CJB Bagging) business is subject to regular internal audits to ensure not only compliance with our Quality Management System, but also the continuation of customer confidence in our products and services.
- The DJ Christmas division performs regular internal audits and checks and is also externally audited in line with TASCC (Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops).
Day Group has a commitment to the certification of all its divisions to ISO9001:2008 by 2012.
WRAP/Recycled Aggregates
Producers of recycled aggregates are expected to comply with the Quality Protocol for the Production of Aggregates from Inert Waste, as published by WRAP.
The Quality Protocol has two main purposes:-
- To assist in identifying the point at which the inert waste used to produce aggregates has been fully recovered, ceases to be a waste and becomes a product.
- To give adequate assurance that recovered aggregate products conform to standards common to both recovered and primary aggregates.
In order to comply with the WRAP Quality Protocol, producers of recycled aggregates must demonstrate a system of Factory Production Control (FPC) in accordance with BS EN 13242. Day Group’s QMS incorporates the requirements of FPC and that of ISO9001:2008, ensuring that a robust quality management system is in place. This gives peace of mind to our customers that recycled aggregates produced at Day Aggregates’ production facilities are fully WRAP compliant.
Testing
We ensure that our recycled aggregates are tested against and comply with the relevant European Standard, as well as national specifications (SHW). All our testing is carried out at independent UKAS accredited laboratories. These results are available to customers on request.

Day Group holds a comprehensive library of technical data from third party suppliers of all our quarried and dredged natural aggregates.
