The Products
White de-icing salt can come from several sources and we supply mainly a marine salt. The salt is of a high specification, enabling easy spread even if the material has been stored outside. Our white grit salt is used extensively in the retail and private sector as it is clean and leaves little or no residue on the ground.
Brown salt contains a higher level of insoluble impurities and will leave some residue. It is sourced exclusively from within the UK and has been used on the road network for many years.
Winter grit salt is a blended material using white and brown salt and a limestone grit. Grit salt is best used in an application where snow has settled and has been compacted, such as footpaths, driveways or any situation where snow is difficult to clear. The salt content will help to melt ice while the grit gives an improved non slip effect.
