Main purpose of Job

To fulfil internal and external customer orders and provide them with an excellent service.

Pant Operative - Avonmouth Depot

Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the South. The business operates 20 sites across Bristol, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London, Hampshire and Dorset.

IMMEDIATE VACANCY FOR A PLANT OPERATIVE - LATE SHIFT.

We currently have an exciting opportunity at Avonmouth Docks, for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Plant Operative at our Avonmouth Depot, starting immediately.

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure the recycling plant is cleaned to a high standard, whilst being compliant with all health, safety and environmental requirements.

They will be using hand and power tools to clean conveyors, feeders, screens, crusher etc and removing build-up in chutes etc. There will also be an element of hosing down and using an integral vacuum system to clean throughout the processing plant.

The successful candidate needs to be physically fit and be proactive and flexible in their approach, as overtime may be required at times. A 'can-do' attitude is a must! In addition to the cleaning aspect of the role, they will assist the Maintenance Foreman as required with any breakdowns, repairs or planned maintenance.

There may also be the opportunity to be trained on operating fixed and mobile plant.

Working hours will be 12:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend working may be required.

This will be an hourly position, paid monthly including overtime and will also include an additional attendance bonus. In addition, there is an annual profit-share bonus and a Christmas bonus.

Holidays are 20 days a year plus Bank Holidays, plus a Birthday holiday.

Plant Operative - Tolworth Depot

Internal Sales Manager - Avonmouth Depot

Main purpose of Job

Office based role responsible for managing and running the Avonmouth Sales Team. Liaising with all external sales staff and other departments to ensure we provide a high level of service to colleagues and customers.

Key Accountabilities and Objectives

  • Managing all aspects of office requirements

Key skills required in the role are:.

Plant Operative Filter Media - National

    Environmental Compliance Manager - Home based with travel to all Company sites

    Main Purpose of Job:

    Reporting to the Group Head of Health, Safety & Environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of, and compliance with, both statutory and Company environmental standards.

    Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Environmental compliance monitoring and auditing of operations across the Group.
    • Assisting in hosting audits of our sites by regulators and customers.
    • Advising on satisfying requirements of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 and associated regulatory guidance.

    • Collating of, and reporting, waste returns to the Environment Agency.
    • Environmental incident investigation and reporting.
    • Liaising with departmental and senior managers and, where required, external consultants, on all environmental matters.
    • Offering instruction and training on environmental compliance.
    • Maintaining the Company's statutory environmental registers.
    • Participating and representing the company in industry groups.
    • Leading the drive for continual environmental improvement.

    Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise appropriately.
    • Previous experience in a permitting role or similar, preferably in a mineral/waste environment.
    • A co-operative and flexible attitude within a team environment
    • Proactive work ethic
    • Full driving licence

    Desirable but not essential

    • Environmental / Engineering / Science Degree.
    • IEMA / NEBOSH / WAMITAB certificate or similar membership.
    • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015.
    • Existing relationships with the Environment Agency permitting teams.

    Working hours/days:

    40 hours/week, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be required.

    Sales Coordinator - Purley Sales Office

    Main Purpose of Job

    Provide administrative support to Area Sales Representatives and Sales Manager and promote sales of the products.

    Key Tasks

    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting field sales representatives
    • Dealing with a range of customer enquiries, negotiating prices and order taking
    • Carry out data entry and reporting
    • System management tasks on sales IT system

    Mandatory skills and person specification

    • Previous experience in a sales office-based position
    • Good IT skills
    • Pro-active and positive attitude
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Good organisational and time management skills
    • Background in the construction or aggregate industry would be beneficial

    Working hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 0800 - 1730, including 1 hour unpaid for lunch.

    Salary dependent on experience and aptitude.
