IBA Plant Foreman, Brentford

We are currently recruiting for an IBA Plant Foreman at our Brentford site.

Reporting directly to the Depot Manager and working alongside the Yard Foreman, the successful candidate will oversee the three main operational shifts ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements. They will also be responsible for implementing and overseeing a rigorous preventative maintenance programme for the plant.

Candidates will have knowledge of aggregate processing and/or recycling, appropriate tickets for heavy plant machinery are desirable. They will also have an understanding of current health and safety legislation. Applicants will be able to demonstrate practical administration skills. They should be proactive and flexible with a can-do attitude and have excellent man-management skills.

Yard Operative, Greenwich Depot

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to work out of our Greenwich Depot.

Duties include assisting other Yard Operatives, keeping the site safe and tidy and the manual handling of material. Experience in loading trucks using a shovel or excavator is required. A reliable and flexible attitude is a must.

55 hours per week Monday to Saturday, occasional overtime may be required.

Sales Co-ordinator, Purley Sales Office

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Coordinator based at our Purley Sales Office.

Key responsibilities include supporting field sales representatives, dealing with a range of customer enquiries and order taking. In addition candidates would be expected to carry out data entry, reporting and system management tasks on our sales IT system.

The successful candidate will have experience in a sales office based position. They should have good IT skills, have a pro-active and positive attitude, and be able to work as part of a team. A background in the construction or aggregate industry would be beneficial.

Credit Controller, Brentford Head Office

We are looking to recruit a Credit Controller to join our busy Credit Control team, based at our Head Office in Brentford, West London.

Working in a team of five you will chase and escalate overdue accounts, allocating BACS payments and cheques as received. You will review all orders that have been placed on hold, recording and resolving customer queries and arranging any refunds. You will also send out copy invoices, statements and proof of delivery tickets as required. Additionally you will provide holiday cover and administrative support to the team as necessary.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Credit Control team with sales ledger and reconciliation experience. They will be flexible, self-motivated and reliable with good communication skills, both verbal and written. They will have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise their own workload.

Standard hours are 0900-1700 Monday to Friday. Salary dependent on experience.

Apprentice LGV Driver, Brentford Depot

Day Aggregates is offering would-be drivers the opportunity to join the Wallace School of Transport apprenticeship scheme. A 12-month apprenticeship to gain a Cat C, with the possibility for drivers to progress to C+E training after satisfactorily completing their Apprenticeship.

Based at our Head Office in Brentford, West London. Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager as one of the Company's LGV drivers, you will play an important role within the organisation. The responsibilities associated with driving both on and off the public highway are significant; the skills required are considerable and your abilities on and off the road will make you a valued member of staff and ambassador for the Company.

The role will involve:

  • Undertaking deliveries/pickups around London/M25 area
  • Carrying out all tasks required of you in a safe and legal manner
  • Knowing and understanding the laws applicable to large goods vehicles and consistently applying these regulations
  • Daily walk around vehicle checks and reporting of all vehicle defect
  • Knowledge of the Highway Code
  • Understanding and Following Tachograph procedures
  • Your working week will be Monday to Friday 06.30-16.30, 50 hours per week including breaks.

Future Prospects

Upon completion of the programme your hours will increase to 55 hours a week (Monday to Saturday), with probability of an increase in rates as you continue to grow and progress.

Class 1 LGV Driver - Woodsford Depot, Dorset

We are currently recruiting for an LGV Driver to be based at our Woodsford Depot near Dorchester.

Key responsibilities include the completion of daily vehicle checks and ensuring safe and timely deliveries to our customers. You will be a good ambassador for the Company both on the road and on site.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK, hold a Class 1 licence and have a minimum 2 years driving experience. They should also be reliable, able to prioritise their work load and have a methodical approach.

Hours are 50 per week, Monday to Friday.

Assistant Technical Manager, Brentford Head Office

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Technical Manager to be based at our Brentford Head Office in West London.

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager they will help support the production and commercial teams by offering advice and support on waste regulations and compliance also material testing and compliance to standards and specifications, additionally playing a role in the Company IMS implementation and auditing.

The successful candidate will need to have experience working within an aggregate testing laboratory and be competent with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of hydraulically bound mixtures and pavement design requirement would be advantageous.

The role will involve;

  • Managing and maintaining aggregate testing and records.
  • Technical support to customers and sales staff.
  • Working with the production team to improve efficiency within production processes.
  • Visiting internal and external sites on a regular basis.
  • Handling customer complaints and recommendations.
  • Performing sampling and testing as and when required.

In addition candidates will;

  • Have an interest in the environment, sustainability and laboratory testing.
  • Have a flexible "can do" attitude and willingness to develop within the role.
  • Have and maintain a full UK driving licence.
  • Be willing to follow instructions and procedures.

Plant Assistant, Woking Depot

We are looking to recruit a Plant Assistant to support the Plant Manager in all aspects of buying, servicing and repairing the plant machines across the business. This office based position will be at our Woking Depot.

The candidate should have some mechanical knowledge, experience or interest.

In addition they should have:

  • A good telephone manner
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail
  • Good administration skills including time management and organisation
  • IT skills
  • A clean driving licence

Salary dependant on experience.

LGV Drivers

You must hold a C + E licence, have a minimum 2 years driving experience, and have 5 years checkable work history to obtain an airside pass.

In return Days offer the opportunity to drive a modern fleet of tipper and artic trucks, basic salary, 8% non-contributory pension and annual bonus.
