Distribution Coordinators - Purley, Crawley and Whitesmith

We are currently recruiting for Distribution Coordinators at our Purley, Crawley and Whitesmith Depots.

Candidates will require a natural aptitude for logistics and good geographical knowledge of the local area. They should have the ability to work in a team and be flexible. Good IT skills are essential as the role will include some data entry, general administration and could include helping to calculate driver wages. The role involves contact with customers and yard staff and includes responsibilities relating to driver and vehicle management. Excellent communication skills are important, as is the ability to provide a high level of customer service. 55 Hours per week Monday to Saturday.

Salary dependent on experience plus pension contribution and bonus.

IT Trainer, home based, 6 month Fixed Term Contract

We are recruiting for a home based IT Trainer to work across multiple office/depot locations for an initial 6 month fixed term contract. This position offers a great opportunity for the right person to develop their existing skillset.

Reporting directly to the IT Training Consultant they will complement the existing team to deliver the general day to day IT training requirements of the business. The ideal candidate should have experience of floor walking, desk side and group training sessions.

The right person will receive training and support to help them deliver our variety of bespoke IT courses, carry out regular deskside visits, deliver group sessions and provide remote IT training as and when required.

You will work alongside IT and HR to gain good exposure of what the role entails. You will learn presentation skills, develop training material, get involved with projects and learn to plan, organise and deliver IT Training end to end.

The role demands flexibility and adaptability. You will a can-do attitude and the desire to learn. There will be regular travel to all sites to deliver fun and engaging sessions.

Candidates should have a good knowledge of:

  • Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Windows 7 and above
  • Skype for Business
  • OneDrive

Exposure to the following applications would be beneficial:

  • Adobe Captivate
  • Microsoft Dynamics Navision or CRM
  • Microsoft BI

Additional requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence

Salary dependent on experience.

Assistant Technical Manager, Brentford Head Office

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Technical Manager to be based at our Brentford Head Office in West London.

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager they will help support the production and commercial teams by offering advice and support on waste regulations and compliance also material testing and compliance to standards and specifications, additionally playing a role in the Company IMS implementation and auditing.

The successful candidate will need to have experience working within an aggregate testing laboratory and be competent with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of hydraulically bound mixtures and pavement design requirement would be advantageous.

The role will involve;

  • Managing and maintaining aggregate testing and records.
  • Technical support to customers and sales staff.
  • Working with the production team to improve efficiency within production processes.
  • Visiting internal and external sites on a regular basis.
  • Handling customer complaints and recommendations.
  • Performing sampling and testing as and when required.

In addition candidates will;

  • Have an interest in the environment, sustainability and laboratory testing.
  • Have a flexible "can do" attitude and willingness to develop within the role.
  • Have and maintain a full UK driving licence.
  • Be willing to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Carry out all work in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Be willing to help out in other areas of the business where needed.
  • Be courteous and respectful to customers and other company employees.

Plant Assistant - Woking Depot

We are looking to recruit a Plant Assistant to support the Plant Manager in all aspects of buying, servicing and repairing the plant machines across the business. This office based position will be at our Woking Depot.

The successful candidate will have prior knowledge of heavy plant machinery and be able to prioritise breakdowns and repairs.

In addition they should have:

  • A good telephone manner
  • Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Good administration skills including time management and organisation
  • IT skills
  • A clean driving licence

LGV Drivers

If you are interested in working for Day Aggregates as an LGV driver, please complete and submit the driver application form.

You must hold a C + E licence, have a minimum 2 years driving experience, and have 5 years checkable work history to obtain an airside pass.

In return Days offer the opportunity to drive a modern fleet of tipper and artic trucks, basic salary, 8% non-contributory pension and annual bonus.
